How can we find … from scratch. My face is still recovering from addiction to alcohol, drugs, food, gambling, even work or anything else, but the principles apply to all of us, addicts or not. Recovering addicts are just human beings with a disease (the disease, and if someone wants a debate on the disease concept, let me know. This is not an opinion or a belief system, but a fact that addiction is a disease). Anyone who wants to change, grow, or simply increase their level of emotional and spiritual health, you can learn the process of healthy people recover from their use. I stress good because everybody knows that alcoholics stop drinking simply never go beyond the behavior of other age. See my previous articles on alcohol for more details. In any case, how can we grow emotionally and spiritually? In many ways. Here's an idea:
H is honesty,
Or for the opening, and
W is
Honesty, especially with yourself is hard! Only in our own heads, many of we are in bad company. God (whatever the concept or the lack of work for you) comes from other people and we are not alone on this planet. We can build each other in a journey towards positive growth. Periods of solitude is essential for some people, especially introverts need time to heal once more, but few of us have the ability to develop and really only to change … we have to learn the basics. Those of you who already this way, who developed the foundation to withdraw in a positive way, even a few hours, learned to do that, thanks to the mentors. Tired of a positive sense of self Likewise, the connection may be sufficient with their own spirituality, to be alone for a while in good health.
In contrast, most addicts have been bombarded with negative messages in much of their lives, only to be simply allows more time to continue the negativity, to fight and feed their self-loathing. Remember Film, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, the scene with Sir Lancelot in the face of God, "I am so unworthy" of God's reply: "Get out of servility! (Accent UK).
So how do we get honest with ourselves? This usually requires not only self-searching, but also letting other people, at least one person, a mentor, a therapist, or just a friend responsible and mature confidence, in fact we know. Tough! Recognizing our conduct and our thoughts to ourselves, let alone another person, it's really hard. We learn to see, and maybe let someone else see, what we really are. Sometimes, not just talk about another human being of ourselves is a cure. We find that there are others who understand, who have been there, who felt or feel, like us. Other People have made some of the very embarrassing and shameful that we did. We do not undertake to find until you get honest with ourselves, and possibly others. We remain in isolation and self-hatred until something happens that allows us to touch bottom. " Finally, we have the courage to let another human being in our secret world. No other person has experienced problems similar to ours. We are not alone.
The problem is that to grow, we need the guidance and support. We need others who have been there and are willing to assist, encourage us, we hold hands, while being our friend and support, even if we are not perfect. Sometimes it takes a very convincing (read: person) insistent lead us in a better way of life, sometimes we simply can no longer continue and actually seeking help.
Honesty with oneself and others frees us. We to worry about being caught, what the story (LIE), we are told, who knows what, or anything else. We are as sick as our secrets, and if we lose the secret, we'll meet up a little more.
The honesty is there to cure! The following articles discuss W and W.
