"I can add a graphics card for my laptop?
I'm pretty sure the answer is no, but I wanted to do anyway. I Advent 7014 laptop with integrated graphics, but I want a dedicated graphics card for 3D modeling. It was the best machine I could afford at that time. I have a PCMCIA slot, but I can see are wireless network cards or sound cards. Other ideas for a new laptop?
I did some research on Advent teams and it seems like a mom and pop type operation. (What I recommend is to email and see if they have a docking station that works with the computer (or if you can provide the information to try to find one that works with your computer), which opened PCI, AGP or PCI-e in it. If you are lucky enough to find can just buy the docking station, the installation of desktop video card of choice (compatible with the slot at the bottom) and should do (install Drivers, of course). There is no real external video card (USB, FireWire or PCMCIA), to be represented in 3D. You can find some things that catch and TV tuner, but not the same. Good luck in your search. I would consider building a cheap desktop computer, or you can use for 3d work until you can buy a laptop with a good video card.
