My BIOS and Windows will not recognize my new RAM Upgrade?
I built my computer with an ASUS motherboard and model number is A8N-VM-CSM. I have a CPU AMD 64 runs at 2.2 GHz equipment, however, had only 512 MB, so I decided to upgrade. So I took a 1 GB kit (2 x 512 MB) and put them in the two black slots with another stick of 512 MB initially sitting on one the 2 blue slots. So I have a total of 4 slots (2 black blue 2). I checked my BIOS and Windows both, and they always I say that 480 MB RAM. What is the problem? Should I change the sticks in different slots or something? by the way my team is done by 1 GB Kingston Tech and 400 MHz DDR PC3200.
U could have bought DDRII (DDR2) RAM, but the computer does not recognize as DDR RAM, or vice versa. I hope that's it. Salud!
